How To Create More Time
How To Create More Time
We invite you to heal a thought pattern which may be for you one of your last and greatest blocks by which you prevent yourself from actually doing the actions which you are firmly convinced would benefit you in every way. In truth if you believed these actions were so beneficial, you would not be able to stop yourself from doing them. Could the reason you don't do them be because you have strong unconscious doubts and fears about the true value of these "good" actions? Your unexamined doubts and fears outweigh every one of your consciously held benefits. And, in the end your unconscious fears and doubts prove stronger than your conscious reasoning. This may be the reason why you seem incapable of getting yourself to do the actions which you "know" would benefit you. Through self-reflection you can examine your unconscious "unsanities" (irrational fears, doubts and beliefs) and thereby make them conscious so you can heal them. The basic unsanity or unconscious belief to be healed is this: "If you take the time to actually do the healing disciplines such as diet, exercise, rest and self-reflection, your life will grow harder, more difficult and too complex. Your unconscious, unexamined unsanity tells gives you various reasons for believing this lie: "What is good for you in some areas, will be bad for you in others." or said in another way: "If you invest your time and energy in activities proven throughout all human history to produce beauty, health, happiness, prosperity and strong successful relationships, what will happen is that you will grow more miserable. " No matter how right taking healthier action steps sound to your rational mind, your gut feeling is that you will be more miserable on some level if you do these activities.
One of the main ways people envision wholesome changes actually making their lives more uncomfortable is that they will not have enough time. To exercise, rest, self - reflect, study and prepare wholesome foods would take more of your precious time and you have very little time to spare. Your time is stretched thin and you see no way to squeeze much more time from essential activities such as work, family and the myriad of necessary chores in your daily living. To take time from other responsibilities will create for you even greater misery than poor Health. Your family, finances, career, friendships and pleasures will all suffer. These beliefs are the cornerstones which support the fear that to choose Healthful actions is to choose misery. Your struggles in the physical world are a reflection of your struggles in the realm of thought.
If this unconscious "unsanity" is not consciously faced it will continue to deter¬mine your actions. It is only by reflecting on this false belief and understanding its error
that you can free yourself from its control and the certain misery it produces. The catch, of course is that your mind will tell you that you do not even have time for the very self-reflection which restores you to sanity. It will tell you that you must keep up the hurried pace even though it is this unconscious, unexamined rushing which has created many of your present problems.
When you actually take the time to do Healing activities something quite unex¬pected occurs. In fact, the very opposite of what your frightened mind would predict. By taking the time your mind believes you do not have, you end up with more and more time. Both objectively and subjectively. Even though there are only 24 objective hours in each day and your schedule appears filled, you will accomplish more objectively and also have a subjective experience of having more time.
This is how it works. Suppose you were to take an extra hour a day ( or even 15 minutes or even one minute) to exercise, rest, eat well and study and write about what inspires you. To the exact degree that you care for yourself, you would find that you would require less rest, have greater vitality, think more clearly, be in better moods and have a better attitude, require less junk food, coffee and other stimulants, get sick less, have fewer conflicts with others and in general accomplish much more mentally, emotionally and physically. In short you would become much more productive. Your productivity would also be constantly increasing because it would be founded upon practices which are in harmony with natural law. This is the exact opposite of what your "unsane" mind has likely been telling you.
If you are struggling with the issue of time we invite you to relax your conscious pushing of yourself to do actions that unconsciously you believe will bring you misery. Consider that the primary challenge you face is not with "time" but with how you think and therefore feel about "time". Thus to bring about desired changes most efficiently and effectively, give more attention to Healing your erroneous processes of thinking and relax your efforts to force your actions on the physical level. Wholesome physical actions will blossom naturally when nurtured and nourished by wholesome thinking.
Give yourself the gift of the time to reflect on your unexamined false beliefs and deliberately expose them to the light of reason. Weed out the very roots of this "unsane" thinking that you might become free to live in the ways life has ordained for the Healing of your body, mind and soul.
A PRACTICAL EXERCISE TO CREATE MORE TIME
Select one Health promoting activity which you are not doing because you fear what would happen if you took the time.Apply these two practical steps.
- First, set aside a specific block of time in which to reflect deeply on the ideas in this article as they apply to the activity you are considering. Reread this article and then write out (don't just think about) your thoughts and feelings relevant to your situation. Engage yourself in a dialogue on paper in which your desires and your fears can be more closely explored. Through this process you will generate a greater trust in the positive, beneficial outcome of your "sane" actions. ie you will experience less fear about doing what is right for you.
- You will know when you are ready for your second step, which is this: Commit to actually doing the activity on a trial basis for a limited period of time. The point of giving yourself a short trial period is to take the pressure of a lifetime commitment off yourself. You do not have to do this for the rest of your life. You can surely afford to try a reasonable lifestyle change for a short time without disastrous consequences.
- Choose a trial period long enough to allow yourself to both become accustomed to the activity and enough time to experience the benefits of it. For example if you have not previously exercised you may require as much as two or three months to accustom yourself to exercising and to experience some real tangible results., If however you have merely gotten away from the routine of exercise for the last year or two you may only need a month or even a week to reaccustom yourself and experience the benefits.
- For smaller commitments such as preparing a wholesome lunch daily or asking yourself empowering questions each morning, you may require only a week. At the end of your trial period you can evaluate and see if your life has grown more rich or more impoverished as a result of your new actions.
